Why PADI Scuba Diver?
This program is a wonderful opportunity to explore the underwater world with the comfort and safety of having an experienced guide with you at all times. The knowledge and skills you learn in this program are just the beginning of an exciting array of courses and programs that await you.
The PADI Scuba Diver program is a pre-entry level certification that is perfect if you only plan to dive a couple times a year. As a subprogram of the PADI Open Water Diver program, the PADI Scuba Diver rating allows you to get certified quickly and easily by minimizing time constraints. With the PADI Scuba Diver certification you can dive under the direct supervision of a professional on your next holiday or dive trip.
Prerequisites
To sign up for a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health.
If the participant answers yes to any of the medical questions listed then a signed clearance from a doctor, valid within 12 months will be required.
Academics
The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of three main phases:
- Knowledge Development (online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving (3 chapters)
- Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills (3 modules)
- Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore (2 dives)

Schedule
The Scuba Diver course can be completed in a minimum of 1.5 days.
- Day 1: Paper work + theory with a video session + pool session
- Day 2: + Quiz + 2 Ocean dives in Playa del Carmen
Included
- Scuba Equipment + tanks + weight. (BCD, Wetsuit 3mm, Regulator, mask, fins, tanks and weight).
- If you want to start to use you own equipment, you can bring it with you.
- Video and theory session
- Pool lessons (3 modules)
- 2 ocean dives in Playa del Carmen
- Water and snacks between the dives
